Texas A&M junior swimmer Chelsea Helgason (Olympia, Wash.) earned the bronze medal in the women?â„¢s 50-yard freestyle on the final day of action at the Speedo Championship Series: Southern Sectionals held Sunday night at the Student Rec Center Natatorium.

Aggie signee Casey Hurrell-Zitelman (San Antonio) finished her sectional meet off by taking fourth in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Hurrell-Zitelman finished in a time of 16:36.13, a mark that would rank No. 6 in A&M history.

In other action during Sunday?â„¢s finals session, freshman Renee Iserman (Spring) grabbed third in the consolation heat of the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:04.09, the second-fastest clocking of her career. Sophomore Tracey Renfrew (Cibolo) took second in the bonus section of the 100 back in 58.97.

The Aggies will find out later in the week exactly how swimmers will get to make the trip to the NCAA Championships, scheduled for March 8-10 in Minneapolis, Minn.
