The 4th-ranked Texas A&M softball team looks to improve on its six-game winning streak as it heads to Houston on Wednesday to play the Houston Cougars in a two-game series at the Cougar Softball Stadium. First pitch of game one is slated for 5 p.m.

Fans can listen to the game locally in Bryan/College Station on Sports Radio 1150 the Zone starting at 4:45 p.m. Those attending the doubleheader can listen to the broadcast inside the stadium on or around 88.9 FM.

?I am really looking forward to our games against Houston on Wednesday,? commented A&M head coach Jo Evans. ?Our kids played really well in our home tournament this weekend; we are swinging the bats really well throughout the order and should bring a lot of confidence to the plate against the Cougars.?

The Aggies (19-2) enter Wednesday?â„¢s games having posted a perfect 5-0 record in the 2007 Texas A&M Invitational this past weekend at the Aggie Softball Complex with wins against Illinois, Syracuse and McNeese State.

Junior pitcher/first baseman Megan Gibson was named Big 12 Player of the Week after posting a .538 batting average, in six games played, with 11 runs scored and nine RBI while recording a double, triple and four home runs.

Houston brings an overall record of 17-7 to Wednesday?â„¢s match-up against A&M. Last weekend, the Cougars went 4-1 as they traveled to Tempe, Ariz. to play in the Sun Devil Invitational. The Cougars posted wins against Utah Valley State, UC-Santa Barbara and North Florida. Houston?â„¢s only loss came to Top-5 Arizona State in day two action.

The Aggies own the all-time series record against Houston 6-2. Last season, A&M posted two wins against the Cougars at the Aggie Softball Complex (7-2, 4-1).
