Texas A&M Coach Billy Gillispie has been named District 9 Coach of the Year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for the second time in three years.
District 9 includes all NCAA Division I schools in Texas and Arkansas. Gillispie also received the honor in 2004-05, his first season at A&M.
Gillispie has led the No. 7-ranked Aggies to a 25-5 record, the most regular-season wins in school history. He was named Big 12 Coach of the Year earlier this week in a poll of league coaches.
