The 3rd-ranked Texas A&M softball team will take to the road on Wednesday as it travels to San Marcos to face the Bobcats of Texas State. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. at Bobcat Field.

Fans can listen to Wednesday's game live and free of charge on aggieathletics.com through the new Aggies All-Access. Those attending the game can listen to the action inside Bobcat Field on or around 88.9 FM. The game will also be aired locally in Bryan/College Station on Sports Radio 1150 The Zone.
"Texas State is always a tough opponent," commented A&M head coach Jo Evans. "It is great for our team to be able to play a quality opponent like Texas State before we open up conference play this weekend. Coach Woodard does a great job with her team and they are always well prepared. I anticipate this to be a great match-up."
The Aggies enter the mid-week match-up with a 25-3 record having recently won the FAU Parents' Weekend Tournament on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla.
A&M came away from the tournament with a 4-1 record having beaten Rutgers, 1-0; Michigan State, 3-0; UMass, 3-2; and FAU 3-0. The Aggies' only loss came to FAU, 4-0, in pool play on Saturday night. Amanda Scarborough was named Tournament MVP after earning three wins in three appearances in the circle for the Aggies. Scarborough did not allow an earned run to cross the plate in 23 innings of work. She fanned 23 batters and only allowed one free pass on the weekend.
Texas State brings a 15-16 overall, 5-7 Southland Conference record into the game. The Bobcats suffered a series sweep by Nichols State last weekend in Thibodaux, La.
Amy Krueger leads the way for the Texas State hitters. She's batting .320 on the season with seven doubles, two home runs and 11 RBI.
For the Aggies, Megan Gibson is batting .413 with two doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 20 runs driven in. Gibson also boasts a .889 slugging percentage and has been walked a team-high 26 times this season.
The two teams last met in April of 2006. It took the Aggies 10 innings to beat the Bobcats 2-1 in College Station. A&M holds a 52-9 advantage in the all-time series.
