The cover of the 2006-07 Texas A&M women?™s swimming & diving media guide was named the best in the nation by Swimming World Magazine on Thursday.

The inaugural Media Guide Cover of the Year Award is the second of three awards to be handed out by Swimming World Magazine to media relations departments across the country. Northwestern?™s Doug Meffley was named the SID of the Year on Wednesday.

The award-winning cover was conceptualized and put together by assistant media relations director Chris Harrell, photographer Glen Johnson of Johnson Photography in Bryan, and publications specialist Cyndi Mousner. The vote was done by the Phoenix-based staff of Swimming World Magazine.

The cover features each of the Aggies?™ six returning first team All-Americans: senior Rebecca Sturdy (Anacortes, Wash.) and sophomores Triin Aljand (Tallinn, Estonia), Codie Hansen (Arlington), Kristen Heiss (Casper, Wyo.), Christine Marshall (Newport News, Va.), and Julia Wilkinson (Stratford, Ont.).

The cover award marks the second in recent memory for an A&M women?™s swimming & diving publication. The 2001-02 women?™s swimming & diving guide cover was named ?'Best in the Nation?™ by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Three of the four schools honored nationally for their cover designs came from the state of Texas. The University of Texas was awarded second place while Texas Christian University and the University of Tennessee tied for third place honors.
