Texas A&M soccer signee Rachel Shipley and the Plano West soccer team will take on Flower Mound Marcus in the Class 5A State Semifinal game at 1 p.m. at the Round Rock ISD Athletic Complex in Round Rock, Texas on Friday.
Shipley who was recently named the Dallas Morning News Girls?â„¢ Soccer Player of the Week, has 18 goals and a team-leading 19 assists heading into this weekend?â„¢s matches.
In the Class 5A Region II finals, Shipley scored two goals, including the game-winner with 7:08 left in the second half to lift Plano West past Allen, 2-1.
The four-year starting forward was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America?â„¢s National High School Scholar Athlete of the Year. Shipley was also named to the NSCAA All-American team.
