Alex Reynolds, a freshman infielder on the Texas A&M softball team earned Big 12 Player of the Week accolades, the conference office announced today. It was Reynolds first career Big 12 honor.

?I am very excited for Alex,? A&M head coach Jo Evans said. ?I am proud of the way she stepped up this past weekend. Alex has had her struggles and she?â„¢s worked so hard to finally get comfortable at the plate. It?â„¢s nice to see her hard work pay off and be recognized.?

Reynolds compiled a .714 batting average at the plate with four RBIs while also drawing a walk in three Aggie victories last week. The Tomball, Texas native also notched her first collegiate home run in a 13-0 win over Kansas on Sunday.

In game one versus KU, Reynolds went 3-for-4 in addition to tallying three RBIs and a double to highlight her weekly performance. She finished the weekend with a 1.286 slugging percentage and improved her overall batting average 55 points this week.

On the season, Reynolds is batting .300 with five doubles, a home run and eight RBIs in 27 games played for the Aggies.
