Texas A&M assistant volleyball coach Robyn Romansky has been selected to serve as an assistant coach for the USA Volleyball High Performance Select A1 program, the top program USAV offers for volleyball players born in and after 1992.
Romansky is one of eight current and former college coaches who were selected to assist Ron Wilde, an assistant volleyball coach at the University of Wisconsin, who will serve as the program head coach. They will train and coach a group of 50 girls, who were selected as the top 15-year-old-and-under players in the U.S. after participating in High Performance tryouts earlier this year.
The group will train and compete in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., from July 16-26. The training portion will be July 16-21. The group will then be divided into four teams and compete representing USA Volleyball in the 2007 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships, July 22-25.
Earlier this year, Romansky served as an assistant coach for one of two U.S. Women?â„¢s National A2 teams that competed at the USA Volleyball Adult Open Championships held in Austin, Texas, May 26 through June 2.
Romansky, a member of the A&M Class of ?â„¢01, joined the Texas A&M coaching staff in 2004 following her three years with the USA Women?â„¢s National Volleyball Team that culminated in the Olympic Games at Athens, Greece. The Hallettsville, Texas, native has maintained a close relationship with USA Volleyball since returning to Aggieland, serving as technical coordinator for the National Team at the 2005 Montreaux Volley Masters and also serving as coach of the Lonestar Region at USA Volleyball?â„¢s High Performance Championships last summer. In addition, the former Robyn Johnson is a member of USA Volleyball?â„¢s CAP (Coaching Accreditation Program) cadre, a group of volleyball coaches that educates coaches and helps enhance the sport.
