The Atlanta Hawks took Texas A&M guard Acie Law IV with the 11th pick in Thursday's NBA Draft, making Law the highest draft selection in school history.
Law is only the third first-round choice in A&M history, but the second in the last three years. Antoine Wright was the 15th pick by the New Jersey Nets in 2005, while Sonny Parker was taken 17th by the Golden State Warriors in 1976.
Law, the only consensus first-team All-American in school history, averaged 18.1 points and 5.0 assists last season in leading the Aggies to a school-record 27-7 record. A&M advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 1980.
