Texas A&M?â„¢s Donald Sloan scored 11 points to help lift Athletes in Action to an 81-70 victory against Lebanon on Friday at the 2007 William R. Jones Cup.
AIA improved to 3-2 in the tournament to move into a tie for second place with Lebanon (3-2). Jordan is in first place at 4-1.
Reed Rawlings of Chattanooga, Tenn., led AIA with 17 points. UNC Wilmington?â„¢s Todd Hendley added 15 points with a team-high seven rebounds. Sloan also contributed four rebounds and three assists.
Sloan handed AIA a 20-point lead ?- its largest of the game ?- with a pair of free throws late in the third period.
AIA will play Kazakhstan on Saturday at 1 p.m. (midnight CDT).
