Texas A&M diver Eric Sehn withstood strong winds and unseasonably cool temperatures to produce a personal best score and win the gold medal on men?â„¢s three-meter springboard Friday at the Speedo Canadian Summer Senior National Championships diving competition at Parc Jean-Drapeau.

Sehn, a nine-time Big 12 diving champion, registered at least 8.0?â„¢s on four of his six dives in the final to win convincingly with 436.35 points, which broke his school record of 421.25 that he set at the 2007 Big 12 Championships.

?I did everything I could to not let the wind bother me,?â„¢?â„¢ said Sehn, 22, who is originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. ?And my dives felt really great, especially my inward two and half which I did in the third round for 8.5?â„¢s and 9.0?â„¢s. I?â„¢ve been training really hard this year and I just want to keep improving.?

Competition continues through to Sunday. Full results at www.diving.ca
