Texas A&M?â„¢s Conor Pollock (San Antonio, Texas) has been successful this summer competing as an amateur in recent USTA Men?â„¢s Futures Tournaments held in the United States.
Pollock, an All-Big 12 Conference selection and one of the top returning players for the Aggies, posted an impressive 8-3 record in singles competition with notable victories over Canada?â„¢s Andrei Nicoara, India?â„¢s Vikram Chitkara and Japan?â„¢s Yuichi Ito. Pollock reached the quarterfinals twice in events held in Godfrey, Illinois, and Decatur, Illinois.
Pollock also partnered up with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi?â„¢s Andrey Kumantsov to capture the doubles title at the Millennium Tennis Club USTA Men?â„¢s Futures Tournament held in Joplin, Missouri. In the doubles final, Pollock and Kumantsov defeated Peter Shultz and Stephen Amritraj, 6-3, 6-3. Pollock and UNLV?â„¢s Joel Kielbowicz will play in Sunday?â„¢s doubles final in Decatur, Ill.
The final leg of the USTA Futures Tournament will conclude on Aug. 6-13 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
