The Texas A&M women's golf team will compete in the Lady Tar Heel Invitational Friday through Sunday at the University of North Carolina's Finley Golf Course.
The tournament will consist of 18 holes each day for a total of 54 on the par-72, 6,285-yard course.
In addition to A&M, the 18-team field includes Auburn, College of Charleston, Duke, East Carolina, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, NC State, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Tulsa, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.
Representing A&M will be sophomore Danielle McVeigh, junior Lauren Johnson, sophomore Ashley Freeman, freshman Sarah Zwartynski and junior Jodi Neal.
The Aggies opened the season with an 11th-place finish at the Cougar Classic last month in South Carolina. A&M was playing without McVeigh, who was playing in an event in Ireland. Zwartynski led the Aggies with a 17th-place finish in her college debut.
"We have really prepared for this event for the past couple of weeks," A&M Coach Trelle McCombs said. "The girls have worked very hard to fine tune their games and I truly believe they are ready."
