Sophomore Ashley Freeman fired an even-par 72 on Saturday to help lift Texas A&M into a tie for seventh place after the second round of the Lady Tar Heel Invitational at the University of North Carolina's Finley Golf Course.

The Aggies posted a team score of 294 for a 36-hole total of 596 and trails tournament leader Tennessee (586) by 10 strokes going into Sunday's final round.

Duke is in second place at 589, followed by Georgia (591), Wake Forest (593), North Carolina State (593), Auburn (594), A&M, Vanderbilt (596), Tulsa (598), Virginia (601), Florida State (602), Oklahoma State (607), South Carolina (607), North Carolina (609), East Carolina (613), Texas (613), Kentucky (616) and College of Charleston (627).

Duke's Amanda Blumenherst is the individual leader at five-under-par (71-68=139).

A&M freshman Sarah Zwartynski is tied for 15th (75-73=148), Freeman (77-72=149) and junior Lauren Johnson (75-74=149) are tied for 20th, sophomore Danielle McVeigh (75-75=150) is tied for 27th and junior Jodi Neal (87-78=165) is in 92nd.
