The Texas A&M men?™s swimming and diving team opened its season with a hard fought loss to the University of Missouri in dual meet action at Gabrielsen Natatorium on the Iowa State University Campus. The Aggies fell to the Tigers 132-111.
Texas A&M head coach Jay Holmes weighed in on the Aggies?™ performance. ?We did some good things and we found a lot of things we need to work on, but the bottom line is we need to win. We just didn?™t get that done today.?
The Aggies swam to victory in both relays and returning Big 12 champion Israel Duran won the 200 meter fly but it wasn?™t enough to hold off the hard-charging Tigers.
Jay Holmes and company will return to action tomorrow as they take on Texas and Missouri in the Big 12 Relays which will also be held on the Iowa State campus in Ames.
For those not able to be in attendance, live updates of the Big 12 Relays are scheduled to be available on the Iowa State University athletic website: www.cyclones.com.
