Danielle McVeigh and Sarah Zwartynski each closed with one-over-par 73s on Wednesday to lead Texas A&M to an eighth-place finish at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at Angel Park Mountain Golf Course.

Denver won the team title by 11 strokes with a 858 total, followed by Arizona (869), Kent State (874), Tennessee (879), Oklahoma State (886), New Mexico (886), Pepperdine (887), A&M (296-299-298=893), Missouri (895), TCU (904), UNLV (906), BYU (913), Idaho (913), Washington (917), SMU (918), Eastern Washington (919), Colorado State (920), and Long Beach State (943).

Denver's Katie Kempter captured individual honors with an eight-under total of 67-69-72=208.

McVeigh (74-73-73=220) and Aggie teammate Lauren Johnson (71-73-76=220) tied for 17th, while Zwartynski (77-76-73=226) tied for 41st, Ashley Freeman (74-77-76=227) tied for 46th and Sara Hemingway (79-84-80=243) tied for 84th.

The Aggies close their fall schedule at the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship Nov. 4-6 in Reunion, Fla.
