The Texas A&M equestrian team?â„¢s hunter seat group will head to Dallas on Friday for a 1 p.m. match-up with Southern Methodist.
The Aggie hunter seat unit has started the year off on fire, winning all four of their competitions, including a huge 6-4 win over national runner-up Georgia on Oct. 20. Both the fences and the flat groups have both started the year with 4-0 records as well in helping lead A&M to a perfect 4-0 overall team mark.
SMU, who currently only competes in hunter seat competitions, had a rough start to the season, dropping 12-0 and 10-2 decisions at Georgia and at Fresno State, respectively, earlier this month. The Mustangs are in their first year under new head coach Ashley Schaeffer, who was hired on Sept. 5.
The Aggies hold a 2-0 record all-time against SMU since going to the varsity format last season. The Aggies won a tiebreaker after a 6-6 deadlock in College Station last Oct. 15, while also defeating the Mustangs, 6-2, during the first round of the Varsity Equestrian National Championships in Waco on April 18.
The location of Friday?â„¢s show is 8787 Park Lane, Dallas, TX 75231.
