For the third time this season, senior forward Ashlee Pistorius was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Pistorius was a dominating force in the Aggies?â„¢ Big 12 regular season finale victory over Baylor on Friday. The All-American not only recorded her sixth career hat-trick against the Lady Bears, Pistorius added a fourth goal in the match to tie Bryn Blalack as A&M?â„¢s all-time leader in goals scored (79).
Pistorius also posted a season-best in the game, notching her 23rd goal, beating her previous mark of 22 set in 2005. It was the second time in Pistorius?â„¢ career that she was able to net four goals against Baylor, having accomplished the feat in 2005, as well.
Friday?â„¢s four goals gives Pistorius the national lead in goals scored this season (23). The Bloomington, Ill. native is averaging 1.21 goals per game and 2.74 points per game, another nation?â„¢s-best.
