Crystal Reeves of Broken Arrow, Okla., has signed a national letter-of-intent to play college golf at Texas A&M, Head Coach Trelle McCombs said Thursday.

Reeves has won 17 tournaments, including 11 high school events, and is ranked No. 23 nationally in the class of 2008 by Polo Golf. She has won three South Central PGA Tournament of Champions titles and was named the 2003 South Central Section PGA Player of the Year.

Reeves won the 2006 and 2007 Oklahoma Girls Junior and has set two course records in Oklahoma with scores of 66. A member of the 2006 Oklahoma Ryder Cup Team, she is a national finalist for the Wendy?â„¢s National High School Heisman award.

"A player of Crystal's caliber is going to bring great depth to our team,? McCombs said. ?She is the type of player that every coach wants. She?â„¢s academically sound, has a fantastic competitive spirit and is a great team player. I look for Crystal to really thrive here in Aggieland."

In 2006, Reeves spent spring break helping rebuild homes for victims of Hurricane Katrina. She has served in various leadership positions in her school and has been nominated for the HP Scholastic Junior All-America Team.

"Crystal has been responsible for recruiting girls in her high school to come and play on the team,? McCombs said. ?She encouraged her teammates to keep practicing and that they would see their hard work pay off. And it did when her team finished third in the state tournament last spring. That is the type of talent and character that we continue to recruit at A&M."
