Ashlee Pistorius, a member of the Texas A&M soccer team has been named one of 14 finalists for Soccer Buzz Magazine?â„¢s 2007 National Player of the Year award, it was announced this week.
Pistorius, one of A&M?â„¢s most decorated athletes, finished her playing career atop the Big 12 record books in goals scored (81) and total points (194). The goals and points also earned Pistorius the top spot on the Aggie career charts.
The senior from Bloomington, Ill. has three-times been named a Soccer Buzz All-American. She was the Soccer Buzz Central Region Freshman of the Year in 2004, as well as earning a spot as a finalist for the magazine?â„¢s freshman of the year honor.
For her efforts in the classroom, the sport management major has twice garnered Academic All-Big 12 accolades.
First presented in 1996, the 12th-annual winners of the award will be announced in mid-December after a vote among Division I coaches and Soccer Buzz staff.
