Texas A&M head baseball coach Rob Childress and Aggie head softball coach Jo Evans will be the featured speakers at the Brazos County A&M Club's annual First Pitch Reception on Tuesday, January 29 at Briarcrest Country Club in Bryan.
Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased online at www.bcamc.org. The event begins at 6 p.m., and will also feature additional staff and players from both teams. A hors d'oeuvres buffet and cash bar will be available. Children under 10 will be admitted free.
Childress' baseball team returns 19 letterwinners, six position starters and two starting pitchers from a 2007 squad that went 48-19 and claimed the Big 12 Championship in Oklahoma City and the NCAA College Station Regional crown.
Evans' softball squad returns eight starters and 10 letterwinners from the 2007 team that went to the Women's College World Series and finished with a 46-14 record.
Softball's 24-game home slate begins on February 13, while baseball's 39-game home schedule opens on February 22. Season and individual-game tickets for both baseball and softball are available now by calling 1-888-99-AGGIE or online at aggieathletics.com.
