Softball fans looking to catch a glimpse of the 2008 Texas A&M softball team?â„¢s run at a second consecutive, seventh overall NCAA Women?â„¢s College World Series appearance can now purchase single-game tickets through the Athletic Ticket Office.

The 24-game home slate kicks off Wednesday, Feb. 13 against Sam Houston State. The Bearkats are just one of 22 NCAA participant teams the Aggies will face this season.

A&M will also play host in two home tournaments. The Texas A&M Invitational (Feb. 22-25) will pit the Aggies against North Texas, Temple and SHSU. The Aggie Classic (Mar. 6-9) has A&M slated to face-off against Illinois, BYU and Louisiana-Lafayette.

?We are looking forward to hosting two home tournaments again this season,? A&M coach Jo Evans said. ?These tournaments will feature several teams from across the nation and will give us the opportunity to showcase our talent in front of the best fans in the country.?

Other non-conference games to be played at the Aggie Softball Complex include doubleheaders against Stephen F. Austin on Feb. 20 and Houston on Feb. 27 and a single game against Texas State on Apr. 23.

Texas A&M will open Big 12 play at home against fellow Women?â„¢s College World Series participant Baylor on Mar. 19.

The Bears return six starters and 10 letterwinners from their ?â„¢07 squad that tied a program record for wins along with capturing their first Big 12 regular-season crown before advancing to the WCWS for the first time in school history.

Other conference home games include Missouri (Mar. 28-29), Oklahoma (Apr. 12-13), Kansas (Apr. 19-20) and Texas (Apr. 30).

The Tigers return five starters and 10 letterwinners from last year's team that finished 40-24 after to falling to DePaul in their NCAA Regional Championship game.

Oklahoma returns seven starters, including three All-Americans, that helped the Sooners finish with an overall record of 55-8 last season.

Kansas returns eight starters and 13 letterwinners from last year?â„¢s team that ended at 33-24-1.

The Longhorns return six starters and 13 letterwinners from the 2007 squad that went 35-20 overall and made its third straight trip to the NCAA Regionals.

As a whole, the Big 12 boasts six ?â„¢07 NCAA tournament teams (Texas A&M, Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska and Missouri). With three advancing to Super Regionals (Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Baylor) and Texas A&M and Baylor making an appearance at the WCWS in Oklahoma City.

Head Coach Jo Evans returns eight starters and 10 letterwinners from last year?â„¢s squad that finished with a 46-14 overall record and made its sixth-straight NCAA postseason appearance, 18th in program history.
