The Texas A&M women?â„¢s swimming & diving team is ranked sixth in the newest edition of the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Top 25 Dual Meet Poll released late Thursday.

Despite handily winning their only meet since the last poll was released, the Aggies slid two spots based on a pair of strong performances and one big upset this past weekend by other schools in the top 10.

The University of Florida, who had been ranked No. 7, skyrocketed to No. 3 after handing No. 1 Auburn its first defeat of the season in a long course meet in Gainesville last Saturday. Arizona, formerly No. 5, jumped past the Aggies as well after a strong victory over then-No. 6 California and a close meet with current No. 2-ranked Stanford.

The University of Georgia moved into the top slot vacated by Auburn with Stanford second and Florida third. Arizona is ranked fourth and Auburn, who handed A&M its only dual meet loss in the last two years on Jan. 12, is fifth wile the Aggies are sixth.

The Aggies will host their final home dual meet of the 2007-08 season today at 5 p.m. at the Student Rec Center Natatorium when they take on Houston on Senior Day.

Admission to today?â„¢s meet is free of charge. The 12th Man Team Rewards Program will be in attendance to scan its members as well.

On Saturday, the Aggies will head to Austin to face No. 17 Texas in the State Farm Lone Star Showdown at 1 p.m. A&M earned a 174-125 win over the Longhorns in College Station last season.
