The No. 25-ranked Texas A&M women?â„¢s golf team closed with a round of 313 on Wednesday and finished 10th at the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club.
No. 2 UCLA captured the title with a 54-hole total of 876. No. 5 Florida was seven shots back at 883, followed by No. 3 Southern California (887), No. 4 Arizona State (889), No. 24 Stanford (900), No. 17 Wake Forest (904), No. 15 Oklahoma State (909), No. 9 Arizona (914), No. 16 Pepperdine (914), A&M (915), TCU (925), BYU (925), No. 7 Denver (930), No. 23 Michigan State (939) and Ohio State (942).
Wake Forest?â„¢s Natalie Sheary claimed individual honors with a two-over-par total of 72-71-72=215.
A&M?â„¢s Lauren Johnson (76-72-77=225) and Danielle McVeigh (75-72-78=225) tied for 18th, Ashley Freeman (75-78-79=232) tied for 43rd, Sarah Zwartynski (78-77-79=234) tied for 50th and Miranda Orr (80-77-88=245) placed 73rd.
The Aggies are back in action Monday and Tuesday at the Central District Invitational in Parrish, Fla.
