Leading efforts from the group of Aggies who competed in Houston this weekend included three victories and a pair of runner-up performances during the all-comers meet hosted by the University of Houston.

A mixture of throwers, sprinters and distance runners competed a bit closer to home on Saturday while the rest of the A&M squad was in Seattle.

Javier Olivas hit a 57-7 (17.55) to win the shot put as teammate Nick Cook placed second with a 54-2 ?˝ (16.52) effort. Terry Dike claimed the triple jump with a leap of 47-7 ?ľ (14.52).

Dusty Langwell produced a winning effort in the mile, running 4:29.23 while Michael Marek won his section in 4:32.94 and finished fifth overall. In the women?™s mile, Kathryn Hearn ran 5:15.17 for third as Frances Hearn placed 10th with a 5:25.70.

Kyle Dykhuizen was second in the 400 with a 49.77 while Jonathan Collins finished ninth overall with a 50.59.

In the weight throw Josh Tiemann finished fifth with a mark of 53-9 ?Ľ (16.39). Deidre Tarver also placed fifth in the women?™s weight throw with a 47-11 (14.60) effort, which matched her season best mark.

Anteneshia Lindsey placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 44-4 ?Ľ (13.52). A&M school record holder Kasey Onwuchekwa, who hit a mark of 56-6 (17.22), won the event.

Vincent Scillitani and Trinity Otto both ran in the 60 meters, clocking times of 7.16 and 7.17, respectively. Otto, a multi-event competitor for the Aggies, also reached a distance of 22-0 ?Ľ (6.71) in the long jump, placing eighth, and produced an effort of 40-11 (12.47) in the shot put for 11th place.
