Texas A&M?â„¢s Josh Carter and Joseph Jones have been named to the All-District 9 Team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Carter, a junior guard/forward from Dallas, was named to the first team. Jones, a senior forward/center from Normangee, was tabbed for the second team.
Carter leads the Aggies in scoring with 12.6 points per game and has made 63 three-point field goals. Jones averages 10.7 points and 5.2 rebounds. Jones was named to the team for the third straight year after earning first-team honors in 2006 and second-team status last year. A&M has been represented on the team for eight straight years, including three consecutive seasons with multiple honorees.
Other members of the first team are Texas?â„¢ D.J. Augustin, Baylor?â„¢s Curtis Jerrells, Texas Tech?â„¢s Martin Zeno and Houston?â„¢s Robert McKiver. Joining Jones on the second team are Texas?â„¢ A.J. Abrams and Damion James, Arkansas?â„¢ Sonny Weems and Sam Houston State?â„¢s Ryan Bright.
