The No. 21 ranked Texas A&M women?™s golf team is in fourth place after almost two rounds of play at the Texas A&M ?Mo?morial on Saturday at Tradition?™s Golf Club.
After unfavorable weather prevented competition on Friday, teams were forced to play nearly two rounds of golf Saturday on what turned out to be a very difficult course. Darkness ended the second round prematurely, which will be played out Sunday morning before the start of the final round.
Michigan State currently leads all teams at 44 over par followed closely by the University of Denver (+48). Tulsa (+55), Texas A&M (+56), and Kent State (+62) round out the top five.
The day?™s top Aggie performer, Sarah Zwartynsi, is currently tied for fouth. She posted a first round score of 77 and finished the day 10 over par.
?The golf course played extremely tough today. It really got the best of the field,? said A&M Head Coach Trelle McCombs. ?We will come out stronger tomorrow than we did today.?
The conclusion of the second round will begin Sunday at 8 a.m.
