The Texas A&M women's golf team opened with a 317 on Friday and is tied for 15th place after the first round of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the University of Georgia Golf Club.

The tournament continues through Sunday.

LSU leads by five strokes at 297, followed by No. 17-ranked Alabama (302), No. 10 Georgia (302), No. 8 Purdue (302), No. 12 Kent State (303), No. 9 Auburn (303), No. 6 Arkansas (305), No. 14 Tennessee (309), No. 15 Wake Forest (309), No. 1 Duke (314), No. 23 Virginia (314), Central Florida (315), South Carolina (316), No. 19 Vanderbilt (316), No. 25 A&M (317), Florida State (317), Furman (318) and Kentucky (339).

LSU's Megan McChrystal leads the individual standings by two shots after posting a three-under-par 69.

A&M was led by sophomore Danielle McVeigh and freshman Sarah Zwartynski, who are tied for 32nd after rounds of 77. Sophomore Ashley Freeman is tied for 51st (80), junior Lauren Johnson is tied for 80th (83) and junior Jodi Neal is tied for 90th (87).
