BAYLOR HEAD COACH MATT KNOLL
?Tournament time is all about surviving and advancing, and we advanced, so we are thankful for that. I do not think we played very well, to be honest. But, we are happy to be in the semifinals and we are excited to come out tomorrow and hopefully play better. We will be ready for anybody. You know that whenever you get to the semifinals of this tournament, you have to play a great match.?
NEBRASKA HEAD COACH KERRY McDERMOTT
?Well we will start off with the doubles. They (Baylor) played pretty well at No. 2 and No. 3 and that set the momentum for them. We played really well at No. 1 and I was hoping we could finish it, but we didn?â„¢t have that opportunity. Singles wise I thought we competed pretty well. The bottom of their lineup is a little stronger than ours obviously with the way they swept us at No. 5 and No. 6. We felt going into the match that we had some opportunities in the top five. We thought that if we played a little better than we did last week that we would have the opportunity to sneak out a couple of wins here and there. They just rose to the opportunity a little more than we did, so best of luck to them. They just played a better match.?

BAYLOR HEAD COACH JOEY SCRIVANO
?I am pleased with the way we played today. Texas Tech is a tough team for us to play. They obviously did real well yesterday in beating Oklahoma and upsetting them, so we knew we had to be focused and ready to play. We did a good job of taking care of business and moving forward. Both (Kansas and Colorado) are talented teams, so we have to be ready to play tomorrow, but it really does not matter who it is, we just want to keep advancing and keep moving forward in the tournament.?
TEXAS TECH HEAD COACH CARI GROCE
?I think we had a good tournament. I think we made a good run. For us to come back and take out OU after the way they kind of spanked us at home, it was good to come back out here. We?â„¢re getting there. I think we brought a knife to a gun battle today, but Baylor ?- all the credit to them. This is their year. I hope they take it all. I hope they take NCAA?â„¢s and everything. They?â„¢re playing great tennis and they?â„¢ve got some great players that are very fair. It?â„¢s just all about tennis to them. They just battle straight up. I have a lot of respect for Joey (Scrivano) and for his players and wish them the best.?

COLORADO HEAD COACH NICOLE KENNEALLY
?We knew that Kansas was going to come fighting at us and we were ready. We did everything we could to prepare ourselves. I?â„¢m just really proud of how we came out and took control early, especially in the doubles. Over in singles, we really had some major fights on our hands and we just kept staying with them. I was excited to see how we pulled out a lot of those tight first sets. Today that was the difference. We look forward to playing Baylor tomorrow.?
KANSAS HEAD COACH AMY HALL-HOLT
?We knew coming in that if we made it past Iowa State, we were going to have a tough match against Colorado. They are a good team, of course, but we were looking forward to playing them. We came out, we put it out there and we competed hard and that is all I ask of the girls. Hands down to Colorado, they played tough.?
?We set our goals, and one of our goals was to be in the top half of the Big 12. We accomplished that and I am very proud of our girls and the efforts they put forth. We have had a few ups and downs and injuries through the semester, but the girls came out and they put it out there, gave it everything they had. The goals we set, we accomplished, so I am very proud of that.?

OKLAHOMA STATE HEAD COACH JAMES WADLEY
?In today?â„¢s game, when you have two good teams, the doubles point can go and people can have a couple of add games. They played well and took it to us in the doubles. We were fortunate enough to regain our composure and come back and compete really hard. I thought (OU) competed really hard. It was a good match. I was happy to see (Oleksander) Nedovyesov play really well at No. 1 to get us back to one all, then (Igor) Sobolta winning. Ivan (Puchkarov) was really bothered by cramps and the heat and everything else. He really battled at No. 2 to come back and win. Nathan (Byrnes) was down a break in the first set and came back to win that set 7-5 and then serve it out at 6-4 in the second. I was very pleased with our effort and our hustle. I wasn?â„¢t pleased with the way we were striking the ball and maybe our shot selection at times, but that comes late in the year and everybody?â„¢s got little injuries and little things they?â„¢re fighting all the time. Overall, I was really pleased with our effort in singles. I wasn?â„¢t so pleased with our effort in doubles. I was happy to get a win over a good team. Now, we?â„¢ll try to recuperate and get after it tomorrow.?
OKLAHOMA HEAD COACH PAUL LOCKWOOD
?I am proud of my players. We fought hard from the opening point of doubles. They beat us pretty decisively a couple of weeks ago in doubles, and we reversed that. We had three goals today. I thought if we got all three of those goals we would win, if we got two of those three goals, we could extend the match a little bit longer. We actually only achieved one of our three goals, but I give Oklahoma State credit. They are a top-20 team and rightfully so. We gave a great effort and we did the best we could and I?â„¢m proud of the players.?

?It was a great first round for us. The players were ready for it and they played really tough. We lost the doubles point to Kansas State a couple of weeks ago. The players were really focused and it was great to see them play that well.?
KANSAS STATE HEAD COACH STEVE BIETAU
?I think we got a little more of a focused effort from Texas than the first time we played them. We came out a little flat and they were just too good.?

?Well, it was very similar to our match at home in Lubbock when we beat them 4-3 and it came down to 7-5 in the third. This one was the same way. It came down to 7-5 in the third, but the tough thing about it is that we led 4-1 at No. 4 and we let that one get away from us. I give A&M all the credit. Steve (Denton) and Bob (McKinley) do a great job and the guys never quit. We just came up a little short. Obviously, the doubles was critical. I think there has been only one other time all year that we lost four singles matches. It happened here. We were obviously very close, but we didn?â„¢t play well. It was a good match and it was hard, because we would have hosted (NCAA Regionals) and been top 16. But, once again, if you are going to lose to somebody, I don?â„¢t mind losing to a guy as classy as Steve Denton.?
TEXAS A&M HEAD COACH STEVE DENTON
?We had won four doubles points in a row before this match against some really good teams. We had to battle there in the doubles. We had a great chance, but it didn?â„¢t happen. You just have to tell your guys that they have to put their heads up and keep battling. It?â„¢s just one point and there is a lot of tennis to be played. We?â„¢ve come back and won four singles (matches) before this year, especially here at the Mitchell Tennis Center. It?â„¢s just a testament to their fight that we were able to somehow pull that match out today.?
?It was a great day for us and obviously, we have to forget about this match and get ready for tomorrow. We have a really tough battle against Texas. It?â„¢s going to require the same type of effort or more for us to beat one of the teams that, in my opinion, has a chance to win the NCAA Championship. We really have nothing to lose. We will just go out, let it fly and see what happens tomorrow.?

TEXAS A&M HEAD COACH BOBBY KLEINECKE
?Oklahoma State is one of those dangerous teams. The first time we played them we had a 7-0 win, but they are a dangerous team, and they are somebody you have to come out and be ready to play against. I was excited that the doubles got off to a good start for us, it was important that we came in and established the doubles point, because if we had come in a little flat and let them get into the match a little bit, that could have been a problem. It?â„¢s always hard when they?â„¢ve had the first round match under their belt, and you haven?â„¢t played yet. That?â„¢s always a tough situation."
?I love this time of year, the post season, where you?â„¢re playing until somebody does win. It changes the complexity of everything just a little bit, and it?â„¢s a lot of fun for the players, and it?â„¢s their first opportunity at it. You can?â„¢t look around and wait for somebody else to be doing it; you have to be the one doing it.
?There are some different match-ups tomorrow. A key is going to be that doubles point again. We are going to want to establish that again, and they have switched their No. 2 and No. 3 teams, so it?â„¢s going to be different match-ups. Sometimes match-ups make a big difference, so you don?â„¢t know. Then there will be some different match-ups in the singles as well. It?â„¢s going to be interesting. Anytime Texas A&M and Texas play, it?â„¢s going to be interesting. So we?â„¢re excited about the second chance, and we?â„¢re going to be out here playing.?
OKLAHOMA STATE HEAD COACH JULIUS LUBICZ-MAJEWSKI
?We expected it. It was going to be tough and girls were fighting well, but I guess I am repeating myself, but he injuries we got killed our team, because like I said, a walk on was playing No. 6. It?â„¢s tough. The girls knew it was going to be tough here. They knew Texas A&M was going to be an excited team and there would be people watching them. We thought that we were going to have a little better doubles, but doubles didn?â„¢t show it today, and momentum was on (A&M?â„¢s) side.?
