Former Texas A&M men?â„¢s tennis player Bryan Wooten (Houston, Texas) recently won his first professional doubles event at the 2008 F6 Futures Tournament held on May 5-11 in Celaya, Mexico.

Wooten and fellow American Ikaika Jobe, who previously played at Boise State, defeated Cuba?â„¢s Rafael Arevalo and Sandor Martinez-Breijo, 6-3, 6-7 (8), 6-6 (retired), in the finals of the hard-court tournament. The duo advanced with a 2-6, 6-3 (10-7) victory over New Zealand?â„¢s G.D. Jones and American Nima Roshan in the semifinals.

An Aggie letterwinner from 2004-07 and a Big 12 Conference No. 3 doubles champion as a senior, Wooten has compiled a career 5-1 record with Jobe beating teams from the U.S., Japan and Mexico this summer on the ITF Men?â„¢s Circuit.
