COLLEGE STATION, Texas- The Texas A&M football team held its first scrimmage of fall camp with a two-and-a-half hour workout in full pads Tuesday morning inside the McFerrin Athletic Center.

The scrimmage was scheduled for Kyle Field, but a heavy line of thunderstorms moved the practice indoors. Head coach Mike Sherman said he saw some good things from his squad.

“Overall it was a good first scrimmage,” Sherman said. “I thought the guys handled the sudden change of going indoors pretty well. We did some good things. We ran the ball decent at times. The defense had a great goal-line stand. I thought the young backs ran well. We weren’t as good as we have been, and that’s a little disappointing, but overall not bad.”

Following meetings, the Aggies have the rest of the day off before returning to action with a pair of workouts Wednesday. Fans are reminded that outdoor workouts are now open to current students, former students and Texas A&M faculty and staff members.
