BRADENTON, Fla.- The 15th-ranked Texas A&M soccer team takes on Florida International in an exhibition match on Thursday at the IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fla.

The Aggies trained at the IMG facilities all week and face the Golden Panthers in A&M’s only exhibition match before it opens the regular season with Rhode Island on Aug 22.

“Having the opportunity to play against someone else in the preseason, especially away from home against a good, solid team like FIU, should be a real good learning opportunity for us and a chance to continue to get better every day,” said A&M head coach G Guerrieri.

The Aggies have never faced FIU in regular-season play, but the match gives the young A&M team some experience on the field before they kick off the regular season.

A&M returns six starters and 12 letterwinners from its 2007 squad and welcomes a top-10 recruiting class. Last season the Aggies captured their fourth-straight Big 12 regular season title and earned their 13th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
