COLLEGE STATION, Texas- Texas A&M junior Kristin Arnold was named to the 2008 Missouri Athletic Club’s Hermann Trophy Watch List, it was announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Arnold is one of the Aggies’ tri-captains after starting all 24 of A&M’s matches in goal as a sophomore. She earned first-team All-Big 12 accolades and was most recently selected to the 2008 Preseason All-Big 12 Team.

“This is exciting news for all of us with A&M soccer,” said head coach G Guerrieri. “Kristin is a hard worker and an inspirational player for us. She stepped in and won a starting role in goal as a freshman and has improved every day that she’s been here. The greatest thing about Kristin is that she has two more years in our program and she’s only getting better.”

In 2007, Arnold posted a Big-12 best seven shutouts and ended the season ranked third in the conference in goals against average (0.86) and fifth in saves percentage (.820). Arnold was also named to the NSCAA All-Central Region first-team last season and is one of six returning starters to this year’s squad.

The Centennial, Colo., native was selected to the list of 47 of the best women’s Division I intercollegiate soccer players by Division I head coaches who are current members of the NSCAA. A list of 15 semifinalists is selected by a coaches committee in November, with three finalists announced in early December. They will invited to the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Mo., for a news conference on Jan. 9, 2009, where the winner will be announced, with a presentation banquet following.
