A&M WOMEN RANKED 18TH IN GOLF WORLD PRESEASON POLL

COLLEGE STATION - The Texas A&M women's golf team is ranked No. 18 in Golf World's preseason coaches' poll.

The Aggies return three starters from last year's team that finished second in the Big 12 and tied for sixth at the NCAA Championship, their best finish since 1982. Sophomore Ashley Freeman earned All-America honors while Zwartynski and senior Lauren Johnson were All-Big 12 picks. Senior Jodi Neal, who played in four events last year, also returns.

Second-year Head Coach Crystal Reeves and Kaitlin Hovda, along with sophomore Alexa Porter, a transfer from Memphis. Reeves won the 2008 Oklahoma state high school championship while Porter was the runner-up at the Conference USA Championship last spring.

The Aggies open their fall schedule at the Duramed Fall Preview Sept. 7-8 in Owings Mills, Md., the site of the 2009 NCAA Championship.
