OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The No. 18-ranked Texas A&M women's golf team opens its season at the NCAA Fall Preview Sunday and Monday at Caves Valley Golf Course.

The 15-team field will play 54 holes on the 6,270-yard, par-72 course, which will be the site of the NCAA Championship in May. Joining A&M will be No. 2 Arizona State, No. 3 Duke, No. 4 USC, No. 5 Oklahoma State, No. 6 Denver, No. 7 Purdue, No. 9 Georgia, No. 10 Alabama, No. 11 Florida, No. 12 Wake Forest, No. 14 Virginia, No. 16 Auburn, No. 24 Arkansas and Georgetown.

Representing the Aggies will be seniors Lauren Johnson and Jodi Neal, junior Ashley Freeman, sophomore Crystal Reeves.

Johnson, Freeman and Zwartynski were in the lineup last season when the Aggies placed sixth at the NCAA Championship, their best finish since 1982. Freeman and Zwartynski earned All-America honors while Johnson was an All-Big 12 pick. Reeves won the Oklahoma state high school championship last spring.

"I'm excited to see what this team is capable of this year," A&M Coach Trelle McCombs said. "I really think we have some players who are ready to get down to business and build on our finish at the national championship. We have some new faces in the lineup but they have lots of experience. We are going to stick to our game plan and take it day by day. We know that the process is more important than anything and that is what we will focus on."
