College Station - Pre-season cross country rankings were released this week on the national and regional levels and the Aggie men occupy the No. 26 spot in the USTFCCCA national rankings. In the South Central region rankings Texas A&M men are No. 2 while the Aggie women rank No. 4.

A dozen ranked teams from the South Central region will compete in the Texas A&M Invitational on Friday, Sept. 19. The University division will start at 6:30 p.m. on the Penberthy Intramural fields. High school action is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. on the course.

As of Tuesday afternoon the university division had the following college teams (with regional rankings) entered in the meet: Baylor (No. 5 men/No. 3 women), Rice (No. 7/No. 2), Sam Houston (No. 6 men), SMU women (No. 6), Stephen F. Austin (No. 12/No. 9), Texas women (No. 5), and Texas State (No. 11 women). Other teams entered include: Huston-Tillotson, Incarnate Word, Northwood, and St. Edward's.
