TOLEDO, Ohio - Sophomore John Hurley shot a one-under-par 70 on Tuesday to lead No. 13-ranked Texas A&M to a 13th-place finish at the PING/Golfweek Preview at Inverness Golf Club.
No. 3 Oklahoma State captured the title by 16 strokes at nine-under. No. 11 Tennessee was second at seven-over. A&M closed strong to finished 13th at 43-over.
Senior Bronson Burgoon led the Aggies, tying for 13th with a one-over total of 70-71-73=214. Oklahoma State's Morgan Hoffman and Tennessee's Robin Wingardh tied for first at six-under.
Burgoon had six birdies in the final round but suffered a triple bogey on the par-4 14th and a double bogey on the par-4 16th.
Hurley had four birdies and three bogeys in his round and tied for 34th (75-77-70=222). A&M sophomore Andrea Pavan tied for 71st (76-81-78=235).
The Aggies are back in action at the Baylor Intercollegiate Oct. 27-28 in Dallas.
