SPRING, Texas - The Texas A&M softball team went 1-1 Saturday at the Spring Klein College Classic. The Aggies defeated Texas State, 11-5, and dropped its second game against Louisiana Lafayette, 6-0.

Senior Holly Ridley led A&M going 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI.

"We have a lot of talented athletes, but we're very young and I think it showed today," said head coach Jo Evans. "In the first game we got off to a slow start and as the game went on we did a much better job of making adjustments at the plate and making plays on defense. I saw some real bright spots."

Sophomore Rhiannon Kliesing put the Aggies first run of the day across the plate with a double. Fellow sophomore Natalie Villarreal scored on the hit.

Ridley launched a two-run home run in the third inning and with the game tied 5-5 in the fourth frame, the Sugar Land, Texas, native smacked another homer. The three-run shot sparked a five-run inning.

The Aggies added one run in the seventh. Sophomore Erin Glasco.

Freshman Rebecca Arbino earned her second win of the fall after throwing a complete game in the circle with five strikeouts. A&M tallied nine hits in the contest.

Junior Alex Reynolds and Glasco recorded hits as the Aggies' suffered a 6-0 loss to Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns. A&M held the Cajuns scoreless until the fifth inning. UL, who was a 2008 Women's College World Series participant, plated four of the six runs on two outs. Glasco went 1-for-3 and Reynolds was 1-for-2 with a walk. Kliesing fanned five from the mound.

A&M finishes the Spring Klein Classic tomorrow with games against Texas-San Antonio at 9 a.m. and Stephen F. Austin at 11 a.m.
