TULSA, Okla. - Texas A&M sophomore Kayvon Karimi (Dallas, Texas) and freshman Colin Hoover (Victoria, Texas) fell in the final round of the pre-qualifying singles draw at the D'Novo ITA All-American Championships held Sunday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
After a successful run at the 10-day fall tournament, Karimi missed a spot in tomorrow's qualifying draw with a straight-set loss to top-seeded Tyler Hochwalt of Florida, 6-2, 6-2. Hoover also fell short of the qualifier with a 7-5, 6-1, loss to Jordi Ballester of Jacksonville.
The Aggies will be represented in the qualifying draw beginning tomorrow with sophomore All-American Wil Spencer (Ponce de Leon, Fla.) scheduled to compete in the 128-player singles bracket at 2 and 4:30 p.m. respectively.
The main draw will commence on Thursday with senior All-American and No. 17-ranked Conor Pollock (San Antonio, Texas) participating in singles and the fourth-ranked duo of Pollock and Krajicek in doubles.
