KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The No. 19-ranked Texas A&M women's golf team will compete at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships Friday through Sunday at Fox Den Country Club.
In addition to the Aggies, the 18-team field includes No. 10 North Carolina, No. 12 Denver, No. 18 LSU, No. 20 Louisville, No. 21 Kent State, No. 24 Arkansas, North Carolina State, Tennessee., Kentucky, Mississippi, SMU, Indiana State, South Carolina, Furman, Central Florida, Tulane and Chattanooga.
Representing A&M will be sophomore Lauren Johnson, junior Ashley Freeman, freshman Crystal Reeves and sophomore Alexa Porter. Play begins at 9 a.m. and live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com.
"Our players learned a lot about themselves and their capabilities last week," A&M Coach Trelle McCombs said. "We are taking what we learned and applying it to our game plan this week in Tennessee. We are still very young but we are also experienced and I hope that experience will start to shine."
The Aggies finished 6th at the Tar Heel Invitational on Sunday in Chapel Hill, N.C.
