COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M's Conor Pollock (San Antonio, Texas) and Austin Klores (Franklin, Texas) were the final Aggies remaining in second to last day of competition at the D'Novo ITA All-American Championships and Midland Racquet Club Invitational held Saturday.
Pollock, a senior right-hander, fell in straight sets to top-seeded and top-ranked Oleksandr Nedevyesov of Oklahoma State, 6-3, 6-3, in the quarterfinals of the singles main draw at the ITA All-American in Tulsa, Okla. Pollock went 3-1 at the tournament with wins over a pair of top 25-ranked opponents and qualified for the prestigious ITA National Indoors on Nov. 6-9 in Charlottesville, Va.
Meanwhile, Klores defeated David Gonzales of Texas Tech, 6-3, 6-2, in the singles quarterfinals of the Midland Invitational in Midland, Texas. The Aggie freshman later lost in straight sets to fourth-seeded Ruan Roelofse of Illinois in the semifinals, 6-2, 6-2.
Up next, the Aggies will participate in the Mansfield Futures to be held on Oct. 18-22 in Mansfield, Texas.
