COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M juniors Cydne Currie and Nicole Ketchum were selected as the Coaches' Spotlight of the Week on Wednesday.

Although not seen on the field this season, Currie and Ketchum are behind the scenes and on the sidelines looking after the team.

A native of Irving, Texas, Currie suffered a season-ending knee injury just seven games into the season. The forward started every match on the front line and was well on target to her best season ever scoring four goals, including two game-winners.

In 2007, Currie received the team's 12th Man award which is given to the non-starter who made the largest contribution off the bench.

From Cypress, Texas, Ketchum is one of the Aggie tri-captains. The defender started all 24 games on the backline last year and was named to the Soccer Buzz All-Central Region first team and the Academic All-Big 12 first team. She helped A&M post a league-best 10 shutouts and also scored five goals, including two consecutive game-winners in Big 12 play.

Ketchum is recovering from knee surgery this season.

On the field, both juniors' energy is seen and felt on the sidelines of every match. They are hard workers and also have key leadership roles off the field. One word to describe Currie and Ketchum is selfless.

The Coaches' Spotlight of the Week is new this season as the A&M coaching staff highlights players who made a great impact in team success the previous week.
