REUNION, Fla. - The No. 23-ranked Texas A&M women's golf team closes its fall schedule at the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship beginning on Sunday at the Ginn Reunion Resort.
The 16-team field will play a qualifying round on Sunday, followed by match play competition on Monday and Tuesday.
Other competing teams are top-ranked UCLA, No. 2 Southern California, No. 4 Georgia, No. 6 Alabama, No. 7 Duke, No. 8 Virginia, No. 10 Vanderbilt, No. 11 Auburn, No. 12 Denver, No. 20 Kent State, No. 21 Arizona, No. 22 Florida, Michigan State, Tennessee and Tulsa.
Representing A&M will be sophomore Crystal Reeves, senior Lauren Johnson, junior Ashley Freeman and sophomore Jodi Neal will be a substitute in match play.
The Aggies tied for 12th at the Mercedes-Benz Championship in their last competition on Oct. 12 in Knoxville, Tenn.
"The girls have a little fire in their belly from the last tournament," A&M Coach Trelle McCombs said. "We have played several matches these last few weeks to prepare ourselves and are ready to compete. We have also worked hard on our short games. My philosophy has always been to 'kill' em with your wedges', so we'll be ready."
