CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Texas A&M women's golf team posted a 16-over-par 304 on Sunday and finished sixth at the Tar Heel Invitational at the Finley Golf Course.
Sophomore Lauren Johnson tied for 17th (73-76-75=224), junior Ashley Freeman tied for 28th (72-77-78=227) and freshman Crystal Reeves tied for 57th (82-75-77=234).
Wake Forest (876) won the team title by 12 shots over runner-up North Carolina (888). Vanderbilt placed third (892), followed by Virginia (893), Auburn (901), A&M (301-303-304=908), Ohio State (909), Louisville (911), Kent State (912), Michigan State (915), Central Florida (917), South Carolina (926), Kentucky (927), North Carolina State (927), Furman (934), Tulsa (936), Florida State (941) and UNC Greensboro (958).
North Carolina's Catherine O'Donnell (74-72-70=216) and Wake Forest's Natalie Sheary (71-70-75=216) and Jean Chua (73-73-70=216) shared the individual championship.
