COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M sophomore Alyssa Mautz was selected as the Coaches' Spotlight of the Week on Friday.

Mautz tallied a career-high eight points to lead the Aggie soccer team over Houston Baptist, 6-2, on Oct. 30. The forward posted her first career hat-trick, including scoring the equalizer and the game-winner, and added two assists. For her efforts, Mautz was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week.

From O'Fallon, Mo., Mautz scored her fifth goal of the season to put A&M on the scoreboard against Kansas at the Big 12 Championship.

A transfer from Saint Louis University, Mautz is also a member of the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team and will travel to Chile for the 2008 FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup, which takes place Nov. 19 - Dec. 7.

The Coaches' Spotlight of the Week is new this season as the A&M coaching staff highlights players who made a great impact in team success the previous week.

The Aggies, who were eighth in the last release of the NCAA RPI rankings, await the selection announcement for the 2008 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship on Monday, Nov. 10 from 7-7:30 p.m. CT on ESPNews.
