COLLEGE STATION - The Texas A&M women's swimming & diving team held onto its No. 8 ranking, according to the most recent College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) top 25 dual meet poll released this week.

The Aggies (5-0) began the season ranked ninth, but jumped to eighth in the season's second poll after a pair of strong performances in Lawrence, Kan. on Oct. 23-24.

Despite not moving up this week, A&M did pick up seven additional votes in the new poll released today after dismantling No. 15, then-No.18, Penn State on Halloween, 153-88. The Aggies earned 234 votes, just four behind 2007 national champion Auburn. Auburn is also the only team to have beaten A&M in a dual meet in the last three seasons.

Four teams coming to next weekend's Art Adamson Invitational in College Station will bring rankings with them, along with two others receiving votes. California-Berkeley, who finished one spot behind the Aggies at last season's NCAA Championships, is the top ranked team competing at the Adamson, bringing a No. 6 ranking to town. The Aggies, at No. 8, are the next highest to compete.

Long-time Adamson participants, SMU and Michigan, are ranked No. 17 and No. 18, respectively, in the new poll. Both Louisiana State and Washington are receiving votes in this week's poll as well.
