COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M freshman Beth West was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com All-Rookie First Team, it was announced recently.
The native of Centennial, Colo., was also selected to the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team in addition to receiving honors as the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on Oct. 28.
West started 21 of the Aggies' 22 matches and is second on the team with 17 points on five goals and seven assists. She netted her fifth goal of the season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Texas State.
The midfielder's first career game winner came as a golden goal in overtime at Colorado. Against Houston Baptist she tallied career highs with three points and six of seven shots on frame.
West and the Aggies head to the Sweet 16 in Gainesville, Fla., this weekend. No. 3-seeded A&M and No. 2-seeded Florida kickoff at noon.
