COLLEGE STATION, Texas --- Texas A&M senior Eric Sehn placed fourth in the one-meter springboard to highlight the Aggies' first-day action at the Art Adamson Invitational on Friday at the TAMU Student Recreation Natatorium.
Sehn, a nine-time Big 12 Conference diving champion from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, posted a six-dive score of 317.05 in the evening final. Entering the final, Sehn was the No. 3 qualifier after posting a score of 328.60 in the prelims. Aggie freshman Cam McLean, from Winnipeg, Canada, just missed a trip to the final with a ninth place finish in the prelims with a score of 285.70.
In the other action, A&M's 200-yard freestyle relay foursome of senior transfer Jevon Atkinson, sophomore Casey Strange and senior Brad Raiford, placed seventh with a time of 1:21.78. Strange led the way with a 50-yard split of 20.12.
The Aggies' 400-yard medley relay of senior Nikita Denisyako, sophomore Bryan Snowden, sophomore Boris Loncaric and Makany sped to an eighth place finish with a time of 3:23.14. Denisyako opened with a solid backstroke split of 50.08, which was fourth fastest of the day, and Loncaric had strong butterfly split of 49.24 that was the fifth fastest of the day.
Denisyako was the Aggies' top finisher in the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.76, while Atkinson and Strange paced the Aggies in the 50 freestyle with times of 20.70 and 20.94, respectively.
