* Tuesday's game is the second round of the South Padre Island Invitational. The tournament moves to South Padre Island for the final two rounds on Friday and Saturday.

About UNCW
* The Seahawks return one starter from last year's 20-13 team that tied for second in the Colonial Athletic Conference at 12-6.
* UNCW is in its third year under Head Coach Benny Moss. Last year's 20 victories was a 13-win improvement over Moss's first season.
* The Seahawks are led by senior guard Chad Tomko (5-11), the long returning starter. Tomko averaged 21.5 points and scored 19 on Sunday against Kent State.
* Junior guard Johnny Wolf (6-2) leads UNCW in scoring with a 21.8 average. He scored 33 points against Troy and had 24 at Wake Forest.
* The Seahawks rely on the three-pointer, averaging 11.3 three-point field goals per game. They are averaging 91.8 points, but are giving up 99.8.
Jackson State Recap
COLLEGE STATION (AP) --Texas A&M used a late first-half surge to defeat Jackson State 96-78 on Friday night. With five minutes remaining to the break, the Aggies led the Tigers 32-31. They closed out the half on a 19-5 tear as forward Bryan Davis scored eight points and shooting guard Josh Carter added five in the decisive stretch. Carter, a senior from Dallas, led the Aggies with 25 points. He was 5 of 8 from the 3-point line in tying the school record for career 3-pointers. Carter now has 232 total 3-pointers, equaling the mark set by Bernard King from 1999-2003. The Tigers (0-2), who lost at LSU 79-65 on Nov. 15, were led by Grant Maxey with a game-high 28 points.
Aggie Notes
* Senior Josh Carter needs 1 three-point field goals to break the school career record of 232 he shares with Bernard King (1999-03). Carter is the most accurate three-point shooter in school history, making 42.9 percent. He led the nation in 2006-07 by making 50.0 percent.
*Carter scored 25 points against Jackson State, one shy of his career-high, and made 5-of-9 three-pointers. He has scored at least 20 points in two of three games this season and is averaging 19.0 points. A two-time honorable mention All-Big 12 pick, he was a second-team preseason selection.
* Carter has started in 73 straight games -- every game since the start of his sophomore season.
* Junior Bryan Davis is averaging 15.0 points and eads the team in rebounds (6.0), steals (5) and blocks (9). He was named preseason honorable mention All-Big 12. Davis scored 16 points vs. SFA, tying his career-best for a regulation game, and has had at least 14 points in all three games this season. Davis tied his career-high with 4 blocks against Jackson State.
* Junior Donald Sloan has started in 39 straight games since the start of the 2007-08 season. Sloan scored a season-high 17 points against Jackson State, his most since he had 17 in the win at Baylor late last season. Sloan leads the team in assists (3.6) and leads the Big 12 in free throw percentage (8-8, .1,000). He has made 57.1 percent (4-7) from three-point range.
* Freshman David Loubeau was a preseason honorable mention Freshman All-American by CollegeHoops.net. He and fellow freshman Dash Harris, who both played high school basketball in Florida, were ranked among the top 75 recruits in the nation.
* Junior Chinemelu Elonu scored 10 points and matched his career-high with 9 rebounds against Jackson State, narrowly missing his first career double-double. Elonu has scored in double figures in two of three games this season.
* Sophomore Nate Walkup scored 7 points with a career-high 11 rebounds against SFA and followed with 8 points against Jackson State.
* The Aggies placed fifth in the preseason Big 12 coaches poll and received votes in both the AP and ESPN/USA Today coaches poll.
* A&M is 55-18 since the start of the 2006-07 season, ranking it among the winningest teams in the country in that span.
* A&M is allowing just 57.7 points on 34.9 percent field goal shooting. SFA was 0-of-13 from the field from inside the three-point line in the second half. They were just 4-of-26 inside thre three-point line for the game. SFA's 6-foot-9 Matt Kingsley was the only Lumberjack to make a shot inside three-point range, finishing 4-of-16 from the field.
* The Aggies are making 70.5 percent from the free throw line. Last year, A&M ranked last in the Big 12 in free throw percentage at .633. As a team, the Aggies shoot close to 10,000 free throws a week in practice.
