SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas - After suffering their first loss of the season on Friday night against Tulsa, the Texas A&M Aggies play Kent State on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the final round of the South Padre Island Invitational at the SPI Convention Center.

The game will be broadcast live on the Texas A&M Sports Network with Dave South on play-by-play and Al Pulliam on commentary.

The Aggies (4-1) were ice cold in Friday's 67-56 loss to Tulsa, making just 30.9 percent from the field. A&M trailed just 29-28 at halftime, but didn't score another field goal until Josh Carter drained his only three-pointer with 8:26 left in the game.

Kent State is also coming off their first loss of the season after they fell, 69-63, in overtime to Illinois on Friday.

The Golden Flashes were 28-7 last season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. They are led by senior guard Al Fisher, who averages 21.3 points and is making 40.0 percent from three-point range. He scored 18 in the loss to Illinois.

Junior guard Chris Singletary adds 15.3 points per game and had 15 against the Illini.

As a team, Kent State is averaging 76.2 points per game while allowing just 62.2. The Golden Flashes are making 47.8 percent from the field and are being out-rebounded by an average of 4.5 per contest.

Kent State leads the series against A&M, 2-0. The teams last met at the 1990 Bearkat Classic in Cincinnati with the Golden Flashes coming away with a 79-67 win in the season opener. Kent State edged the Aggies, 68-66, in the first round of the 1969 Houston Classic.

Carter leads the Aggies in scoring at 14.2 per game, but had just 8 points on 2-of-10 shooting in the loss to Tulsa. Donald Sloan averages 12.0 for A&M.
